She's identical. Somewhere in time a misspelling has lead to contemporary obscurity. It explains also why her work is in the US. Thanks for the light. I have already begun digging into this of course and will do account soon. I wonder if they could be the same person.

She's mentioned in this New York Times review of 1912:
http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F30715F7345813738DDDA80894DA415B828DF1D3

And if you do a Google book search on her name you'll find quite a lot of tantalisiing snippets.Archimandrillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03803733513087350220noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706607912742642133.post-1210090159808910612012-09-08T20:50:21.110+02:002012-09-08T20:50:21.110+02:00Yes, I've seen that since.Yes, I've seen that since.Haji babahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10619515066447546979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8706607912742642133.post-52510723217332835352012-09-07T07:59:52.323+02:002012-09-07T07:59:52.323+02:00Hello Charles, I look forward of course to all fur...Hello Charles, I look forward of course to all further facts. In all cases (but Salaman)it was mentioned that gouache coloring was applied and Japan paper was used. I have to admit she had barely registered with me at all (and I have both books you mention) so bringing the various images and bits of information together is a good start. Salaman's knowledge was broad but he wasn't foolproof.

Are all these prints Japanese method? One link between Rollins and Orlik may be Morley Fletcher and I wonder whether she had been a student of his at the Central School.

There is another avenue of enquiry and I will let you know if I come up with anything.

CharlesAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
