Maybe an observent reader can help with identification of these two bird prints on handmade japan paper and tell me something about the (combination ?) technique used.
Only one of them, the blue budgees (Melopsittacus Undulatus) is signed, but illegible. The green birds are bee eaters (Merops Orientalis)
hello - all I can say about the signature it that it appears on several prints available sometimes on ebay, sometimes at auctions. Noboday knows who is/was behind this work. Here is an example of what I'm talking about : http://www.ebay.de/itm/320728053631?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 . As i own some of these prints I can tell you that most of the time the used papers are brandmarked with the logo "JCB" - which is the interessting part for me because of antother (unknown) artist I'm collecting ... I think both worked together for the same editor : here you can see the other one : http://ric-unknownartist.blogspot.com/ . Would be great if you find some more info one day and tell me ;-) ... good luck!
Thank you, I suggest combining forces in the Linosaurus trying to find the identity of these mystery printmakers who shared the same printing papers . Let me know what you think.
